Camp Should-a-been Predictions: Semi-Finals

I finally got myself to read what camp should-a-been in WhatNotToSing.com is and it’s a very interesting concept. We take American Idol based on WNTS ratings where the one who leaves is the one with the lowest rankings for the night. Nothing more nothing less. A bit cutthroat as it doesn’t focus on fanbases, pimping or sympathy votes but it brings out who could have won it if it depended on how well they did every week. I already have the prediction results right up to the finale but since I have a free week, I decided to make sure I did something everyday. In fact, you might be surprised who the winner is for this thing. Let’s enjoy ourselves and take a gander on what happens with this experiment.

For the semifinals round, it’s not much guess work. The three highest of each group go to the top 13. The 8 next highest in all three groups that didn’t advance to the top 13 will go to the wildcard. The 4 of the 8 who get the highest rankings during the wildcard would go to the top 13. So this would produce interesting results…

SEMIFINALS GROUP 1

  1. Danny Gokey – 79
  2. Alexis Grace – 79
  3. Ricky Braddy – 72
  4. Tatiana del Toro – 62
  5. Anoop Desai – 59
  6. Ann Marie Boskovich – 47
  7. Michael Sarver – 41
  8. Jackie Tohn – 37
  9. Brent Keith – 35
  10. Stephen Fowler – 24
  11. Casey Carlson – 12
  12. Stevie Wright – 11

Interesting ly, we still get Danny Gokey and Alexis Grace with Danny’s heartrending rendition of Hero and Alexis’s dirtied up version of I Never Loved A Man. But this time, instead of Michael Sarver continuing on, we get Ricky Braddy. And of course, with Braddy’s awesome version of A Song for You, it would definitely topple Sarver’s I Don’t Wanna Be. Sarver doesn’t even make the WildCard round. Tatiana del Toro and Anoop Desai do though with the very taboo song Saving All My Love and the sweet crooner Angel of Mine.

SEMIFINALS GROUP 2

  1. Allison Iraheta – 82
  2. Adam Lambert – 65
  3. Kris Allen – 63
  4. Megan Joy – 57
  5. Mishavonna Henson – 54
  6. Jesse Langseth – 48
  7. Nick Mithcell – 39
  8. Kai Kalama – 35
  9. Matt Breitzke – 30
  10. Jasmine Murray – 25
  11. Matt Giraud – 21
  12. Jeanine Vailes – 6

I always thought that Group 2 was a power group. But now, I realize that it’s really Kradison that’s the wonder group. Kris, Adam and Allison all make it to the top 13 again woot! How couldn’t you get these three in without those sensational covers of Satisfaction, Alone and Man in the Mirror? Megan Joy also makes the Wild Card again because of Put Your Records On. But in an upset, Mishavonna Henson does too with Drops of Jupiter. In this simulation, we say goodbye to 12th placer Jasmine Murray, 5th placer Matt Giraud and Wild Card Jesse Langseth.

SEMIFINALS GROUP 3

  1. Lil Rounds – 82
  2. Jorge Nunez – 78
  3. Felicia Barton – 76
  4. Jun’ot Joyner – 66
  5. Scott Macintyre – 63
  6. Kristen McNamara – 59
  7. Von Smith – 58
  8. Kendall Beard – 45
  9. Nathaniel Marshall – 35
  10. Taylor Vaifanua – 25
  11. Alex Wagner-Trugman – 20
  12. Arianna Afsar – 13

Group 3 is one of the weirdest groups. It goes against what really happened. Sure, Lil Rounds and Jorge Nunez go to the top 13 with their covers of Without You and Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me but also Felicia Barton and her impressive No One. But, we get the most wildcards from this group (as compared to just one) and they are Joyner, Macintyre, McNamara and of course WildCard Von Smith.

Our top 9 so far consists of Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Ricky Braddy, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Jorge Nunez and Felicia Barton. Our WildCard consists of Anoop Desai, Tatiana Del Toro, Mishavonna Henson, Megan Joy, Jun’ot Joyner, Kristen McNamara,  Scott Macintyre and Von Smith.

This poses a problem… Henson, Joyner, McNamara and Macintyre were not in the WildCard in the real version. So what I do is for Henson, Joyner and McNamara, I decay their scores in the original while I average Scott’s scores from the one in the semi-final and the one in Michael Jackson week. With this, I give you the WildCard.

WILDCARD

  1. Anoop Desai – 61
  2. Jun’ot Joyner* – 59
  3. Kristen McNamara* – 52
  4. Scott Macintyre* – 51
  5. Mishavonna Henson* – 47
  6. Megan Joy – 35
  7. Tatiana DelToro – 34
  8. Von Smith – 25

The four who progress are Anoop Desai (who is the only true original wildcard who makes it), Jun’ot Joyner, Kristen McNamara and Scott Macintyre. Lucky for me, Scott did make the top 13 as well. We say goodbye also to Megan Joy here. So we have this top 13:

  1. Danny Gokey
  2. Alexis Grace
  3. Ricky Braddy*
  4. Anoop Desai
  5. Allison Iraheta
  6. Adam Lambert
  7. Kris Allen
  8. Lil Rounds
  9. Jorge Nunez
  10. Felicia Barton*
  11. Jun’ot Joyner*
  12. Kristen McNamara*
  13. Scott Macintyre

Now, make your bets. Who do you think will be the next 5 eliminated in camp should-a-been? The asterisks denote who didn’t make it this far so you’ll see their scores decay as the camp progresses. By this time, we know that Michael Sarver, Matt Giraud, Jasmine Murray and Megan Joy are replaced by Ricky Braddy, Felicia Barton, Jun’ot Joyner and Kristen McNamara. Let’s see how far these four progress in the camp. Enjoy!
